INFORMATION ABOUT GENT

The historic city of Gent is situated about 35 miles northwest of Brussels. It is known for its beautiful skyline, historic monuments and vivid night life. Bed and breakfast travelers can choose from 19 excellent museums, 5 abbeys, 3 beguinages and 2 medieval castles. Among them the Museum of Fine Arts, the Design Museum Ghent and the Archaeological Bijloke Museum, the Castle of the Counts, St. Nicholas’ Church and St. Bravo’s cathedral. Other attractions include several colorful markets such as the Flower Market, the Art Market and the Bird Market, the Graslei and the Korelei at the old port, fine restaurants for every taste and a variety of shops including several pedestrian shopping streets.
