My husband and I were invited to an open house of many inns in the Bar Harbor area. The open house was in the late fall when the air was crisp. The Graycote Inn's innkeepers have always been cordial, warm and welcoming. The inn itself, while simple looking from the outside is absolutely beautiful inside. There is a tasteful elegance while simple and not overdone. The beds looked very comfortable although we did not sleep there. But, we did see all the rooms and felt the cozy warmth they had for us as we came in from the cold. The "nibbles" served were very good and I can only imagine that the breakfasts are very nice as well. This inn is in the heart of Bar Harbor within easy walking distance of many of Bar Harbors bequiling shops and galleries and restaurants and whale watch boat tours and more.
