I visited this chateau with my grandson Matthew. This castle was the highlight during our stay in France. The hosts were very helpful during our stay. I hope to be able to visit again.

I cannot believe that Chateau de la Buronniere has not been rated yet. We spent a wonderful few days there last year and look forward to returning again in 2005. The accommodation was stunning; luxurious bedrooms and amazing bathrooms coupled with the beautiful drawing rooms made our stay memorable. The grounds of the estate are simply wonderful... to sit and look over the lake on a moonlit night is a romantic's dream come true. The warmth of the welcome from Sam and his family are second to none. Breakfast at Chateau de la Buronnier is a delight. We were served the most delicious home produce, conserves, freshly squeezed juices as well as superb locally made cheeses, breads and croissants. It was an unforgettable experience.

I stayed for one week with my entire extended family. There were fifteen of us and we occupied the entire chateau . Our hosts were extremely gracious, informative and talented. We asked to have several dinners in the chateau and they were gourmet meals served in a most attractive presentation. Breakfasts were extraordinary. We played bocce ball, fished, walked the grounds and toured the Loire Valley region. Without a doubt, my vacation at the Chateau was one of the most memorable events in my life. I would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to everyone I speak to about world travel.

The Chateau was in an area of the Loire I had never visited before and was so much a part of it all, with previously unknown castles, chateaus and even the house of Balzac's Pere Goriot nearby. We felt we were in a rarefied atmosphere of historical significance. And with full fun of the chateau (we took about 15 of the rooms) we were so very much at home. Whenever we wanted we could request a full dinner or lunch which was presented, along with breakfast every morning, in a beautiful way. The price for all was astoundingly low. Our hosts were gracious and interesting people, the sort of people I would like to be friends with over many years. In fact, I look forward to visiting them and staying in the chateau again as soon as possible. Now with a new little baby on the way, perhaps we will find a way so that the child can also share the experience with us. Sydney Levine
