We booked Chez Jasmin on the strength of Trip Advisor reviews, and as usual were very glad we did. Chez Jasmin is situated in a courtyard just off a bigger road in the Kalsa district of Palermo. There is a cosy large bedroom with a comfortable double bed and satellite TV, a small bathroom with shower, no bath, and a lovely lounge/kitchen/diner, with full cooking facilities. Everything is super-comfortable and beautifully furnished. There is a super roof terrace upstairs which would have been tip-top had Palermo not been freezing when we visited !!. The owner Mary is wonderful. She kept an eye open for us on arrival and checked every couple of days that we were OK and had everything we needed, but otherwise left us to our own devices, which was great. She also very kindly drove us to the station to catch the airport bus on the morning we returned to England. You can walk from Chez Jasmin to Stazione Centrale in 10-15 minutes, but all the same what a star !!. She brings you fresh oranges to juice and leaves you bread, butter, home-made marmalade etc for breakfast. She insists that you help yourself to the local wine in the kitchen and bottled water. In all she is everything a host should be, willing to help with any problem [she lives about 400 yards away] but unobtrusive. When we visited last week the area around the house was extremely quiet - it's off the main road [not that the main road is busy anyway]. Might be a little more lively in the summer when it warms up tho' and more people are out-and-about. The only noise we heard were bells from the three churches nearby. The B+B is central enough to be able to walk to most places of interest. The Kalsa hasn't got as much scaffolding as the area around the Quattro Canti, and it's much more pleasant [and easier] to stroll around. There are plenty of good restaurants within a ten minute walk and a great bar/pasticceria, the Rosa-Nero [named after Palermo's football team] at the bottom of the road. Hire Chez Jasmin when you stay in Palermo rather than paying much more in a hotel for a noisy room where the decoration hasn't been updated in twenty years. You'll really like it. We did. We would give six stars if we could. Paul and Sarah

Well what can i say about Chez Jasmin? Absolutely Fantastic sounds about right. My wife,I and our 14 month old daughter went there in Feb of this year and could never have expected what we found. This gorgeous apartment is hidden away in the old part of Palermo and is just another jewel in a wonderful area that is beautifully being restored to its former glory. The apartment itself was outstanding. When we arrived we found that we actually had 3 floors all to ourselves. We had no idea what was instore. You walk into a lovely courtyard and up a flight of stairs into Chez Jasmin.Up another flight and you find a bathroom/shower next to a lovely sitting room and bedroom.Up another flight and you find an absolutely gorgeous living and dining area and kitchen, both floors with small balconies that have lemons and oranges growing on them.We thought that was it and were so pleased, then we realised there was a spiral staircase in the corner and went up then to discover a lovely roof garden along with table and chairs. It was Feb so we didnt get to use it much, but coming from Scotland, the weather was so much better and we had a couple of chances to sit out at night and take in the local sounds of the area. Overall we had a fantastic time and our host Signora Mary was a gem.She made sure we had plenty of fresh fruit, cereal and oh yes, lets not forget the Vino. She has a wealth of knowledge about Palermo and pops round every now and again to make sure your stay is as pleasant as can be.We will definately be going back to Chez Jasmin. If you find yourself in Palermo, you cant go wrong with Chez Jasmin!

My partner and I recently enjoyed the best holiday ever to Palermo / Sicily. The property is ideally situated in the Kalsa area within walking distance of numerous top class restaurants / bars and sights. You're situated in a quiet courtyard that gives an instant feel for the rustic charm the old part of the city has to offer. To say that the owner (Mary) was helpful / friendly and accommodating is an injustice. She was simply incredible! From the moment we arrived until we left two weeks later Mary could not have done enough for us. Fresh juices, local wines, delicious antipasti and Mary herself greeted us in the nearby piazza on arrival. Mary proved an invaluable source of help / information and practically replaced the Lonely Planet as our hands-on Trip Advisor for the holiday! Chez Jasmine has everything you could wish for inside and if there's anything out of the ordinary you require I'm sure Mary will bend over backwards to accommodate you. You read reviews of accommodations all the time, but this little slice of heaven has me lost for words.... Carlsberg don't do holiday accommodation abroad, but if they did.... Chez Jasmine would be the spot! We will definitely return one day. You should try it too! (",) P. Ryan, Sligo, Ireland
