INFORMATION ABOUT NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE | |
The historic town of Niagara-on-the-lake is located at the mouth of the Niagara River at Lake Ontario, about 30 minutes from Niagara Falls and 1 hour 30 minutes south of Toronto. It is known as the home of the Shaw Festival and was voted “the prettiest town in Canada”. Bed and breakfast travelers will enjoy the flower and tree lined streets, estate homes, historical sites, parks, antique shops and boutiques, art galleries and fine restaurants. Active pursuits include walking, biking and horseback riding the numerous trails, as well as golfing and boating. There are many other attractions and events throughout the year such as winery tours, countless museums, the famous Casino Niagara, the Wine Festival and excursions to surrounding villages like Qeenston, St. Davids and Virgil. |
