| Considered the most beautiful of the southeast Alaska cities, Sitka is a seaside village that is located on the west side of Baranof Island. To the east visitors can view snow-capped mountains and to the west the Pacific Ocean. City attractions include the Sitka National Totem Park, the museum in Sheldon Jackson College, the Bishops House ( the oldest house in Sitka), St. Michael's Russian orthodox church, shopping, several fine restaurants, and fine art galleries. |
